Retarus Releases New Healthcare Secure Document Delivery Report

May 09, 2018

Global cloud messaging provider Retarus has released a new whitepaper on Healthcare and Secure Document Delivery, with an emphasis on the future of fax. Mark Malone, cloud-based fax industry expert and the author of the healthcare whitepaper, outlines in the paper how the evolution of strict data privacy regulations and mandatory compliances can elevate the role of cloud applications.

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations mandate that hospitals and other healthcare providers reevaluate existing models of data transmission. Ease of access to information online or mismanagement of private documentation transmitted over a fax machine makes it a challenge for the healthcare providers to safeguard highly sensitive patient data. In his whitepaper, Malone outlines the importance of vetting cloud providers to ensure HIPAA compliance.

“Given the complexity of regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH, more companies are now adopting cloud solutions for its competence and preeminent security benefits”, says Steve MacDiarmid, President  & CEO, Retarus. “Mark Malone’s comprehensive whitepaper is a good reference guide for healthcare providers to choose a cloud solution that meets their compliance objectives and helps them improve their ROI significantly. As a cloud provider, protecting private information remains Retarus’ absolutely critical mission, not only for the success of our business but for retaining the trust of our customers.”

Providing a brief overview of what the HIPAA security rule stands for, the whitepaper also outlines how the Retarus Global Delivery Network helps companies increase reliability, scalability, and security.
