Eyesight Ophthalmic Leverages Communications for Better Care

By Ken Briodagh
February 08, 2018

According to a recent announcement, FirstLight, a fiber-optic bandwidth infrastructure services provider operating in the Northeast, will work with Eyesight Ophthalmic Services, a southern New Hampshire provider of eye care for both adults and children, to provide advanced communication services for its three medical offices in Exeter, Portsmouth and Somersworth.

Eyesight Ophthalmic Services operates via a cloud-based medical records and imaging system, requiring its information to be kept secure and transmitted quickly in order to provide its doctors and providers with real-time information needed to treat its patients. Additionally, the medical provider has a large call center that answers calls for all three office locations, making it critical for the phone lines to be constantly available and operating without difficulty.

“We understand how critical it is for healthcare organizations like Eyesight Ophthalmic Services to experience reliable services with high uptime and to have sufficient bandwidth to fully leverage the mission critical applications that are needed to support their patients,” said Kurt Van Wagenen, President and CEO, FirstLight. “We are honored to provide our high speed Internet and voice solutions to Eyesight and continue to deliver on our promise of providing the outstanding, locally-based service that allows their office operations to run smoothly and efficiently.”
